104/365 days of doodles
My New Years goal was to complete a doodle a day for an entire year. Hopefully this will keep my imagination and creativity up. Here is January's doodles. Enjoy
Making some sented pinecone wreaths for holiday gifts. And getting some hot glue gun burns in the process
I took my first trip EVER to New York last weekend visiting two friends and absolutely loved it. My favorite part of the whole experience was exploring the MOMA. Not only do they have an amazing collection of art but the architecture itself was beautifully interesting. I will definitely be going back.
Loving my work's Pantone inspired mugs. I wish I had a travel version
Today I was looking online at design studios near Washington D.C. and especially looking at the people who work at these agencies. In one of the descriptions a fellow designer said "Design is everything is design" I really liked this statement and tried to see who originally said it. It's not quit the iconic Paul Rand quote "Everything is design, Everything!" If anyone knows where this comes from please let me know. Here is a quick little type treatment of one of my new favorite sayings about design.
Here is a look into my sketchbook. My favorite medium is pen on paper. Enjoy
I have been extremely lackadaisical when it comes to posting work on here so here is a little quick exercise I did making a pattern inside of the letter A.
I am currently making a crochet flower blanket for my niece. She is almost 2 and is starting to enjoy the patterns and textures of fabric so I hope she likes it.
I am on the job hunt so I'm working on some leave behinds for those who interview me. Holding the accordion in a certain way reveals two sentences. On the back is a little bit of my work and contact information.
A while ago I screenprinted some tanks for myself. I created both images using photoshop. I love printing my own clothes because that means I am the only one who is wearing it, except my friends who demand some for themselves.
When I am bored or not using my hands I like to doodle in my sketchbook. I usually use a micron pen and fill the entire page with a pattern. It relaxes me and I can come up with some really cool designs that I sometimes use in future projects. Heres a look at a step by step process for this doodle.
Recently I took a family vacation on a cruise ship where we went to the Bahamas, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten. All beautiful places where I got some really good pictures.
Here is a little preview of my final thesis project. It is a scale model interactive exhibit on the Black Death.
Today my class and I screen printed our works in progress on the walls of our building. I live for this black and white minimalism. The project is called MONOPRINT and embodies all of us as designers and artists in one single space.
Here is a little progress on my k-scope screen prints. I am printing 5 transparent colors on paper then on clear acrylic and then on glass. More images to come!
